Blog Hop! Welcome…

  GetAttachment.aspx

Welcome to the celebration. If you've arrived here from Lorraine's Blog then you are in the right place. If you just happened upon this post, please start at the beginning over at Crafting with Natasha to join in. Each stop along the way has a "secret word" that you will need for a chance to win the prize. After you've hop to each stop, you will need to email Natasha (natashacrafts@gmail.com) the answer to the "secret phrase". You have until 11:59PM EST on January 6th to enter to win. Winner will be announced on January 7th.

Now that the nitty gritty stuff is out of the way, lets get to some fun creations… My first project is our daughter's birth announcement.  I made 80 of these to share with friends, family, and even some special customers!  DSC_0521 Each one was scored using the Simply Score tool, stamped with VersaMark using Stampin’ Up!’s background stamp “ Distressed Dots” then heat embossed with Melon Mambo embossing powder!  Printed the “announcement “ part on Very Vanilla Cardstock, layered it on Basic Gray and attached them to the Basic Black base.  I layered the photo of Addison on Melon Mambo cardstock.  I closed it with Very Vanilla Seam Binding ribbon and an adorable tag using the “welcome, baby” stamp from the Little Additions stamp set layered on Basic Gray. Then I had to add some sparkle, so I spritzed each one with a shimmer paint/rubbing alcohol mixture.   I just love the way this style card opens and yet still fits in a standard envelope!

DSC_0524

Then, with a New Baby, comes gifts… so one needs thank you cards that match, right?  Well here is what I came up with to simplify it,  I made 80 of these as well!

 DSC_0527

I used Whisper White, Melon Mambo, Basic Black, and Basic Gray Cardstock, small heart punch,  circle punches, Melon Mambo ribbon, Melon Mambo Classic Ink and the “Thank you” stamp set from Curly Cute!

How would you like to win a pack of 10 of these thank you cards? Leave a comment below and I’ll randomly pick a winner.  Make sure to add your email address!

Thank you for stopping by to see our “NEW” addition and the fun creations to help welcome Addison!  If you like what you saw, please leave a comment below and a don’t forget to email your answer to the secret phrase to natashacrafts@gmail.com.

My secret word is “year”

Happy Stamping!

She’s here!

It’s been 2 weeks now, (I’m sorry I didn’t make introductions earlier) and things are starting to get back to normal…

use this for announcement?

This is the picture that I took of her, Addison Marie, only a few days old and already sporting one of Mommy’s handmade headbands!  Her announcements are designed and paper is being scored using the new simply scored, it is saving lots of time, and cut.  I will show you the completed announcement once they are done.  There is a lot going on with them, heat embossing, ribbon, scores, etc. And I’m only making 75 of them!

Well off to feed her and try and keep up on the housework!

Hope you Halloween is great!

Slacker, Slacker, SLACKER…

Yup, that’s me!  Although, truth be told I have not been slacking but have just not been posting.  I have been working my be-hind off getting ready for a vendor fair which is this Saturday!  BTW, if you stop by and say hi I will have a special treat for you (just mention that you saw this post).

Now, you should all have your Holiday Mini Catalog… right?  Well if you don’t, contact me TODAY! You have NO idea what you are missing!  If you do have a Holiday Mini, turn to page 6.  See that adorable wreath made with the WONDERFULISTIC Simply Scored Tool?  Well I saw it and then I searched for the quickest, easiest way to make it and then, I pulled out my favorite fall paper (that would be on page 17 on the Holiday Mini) and I got to work.

wreath

Now you have to add those huge buttons, aren’t they the best and some ribbon.  The wreath measures almost 12” in diameter and is much prettier in person.  I’ll have this one for sale along with another fall colored one and then hopefully *fingers crossed I have enough time to finish them*a Christmas one or two.   So stop by and see me.

Thanks and happy stamping!

A couple more pages…

I was able to get some more scrapbooking in today!  Here is the next sketch copy that I did…  I was unable to copy it exactly as my photos were turned, but I love the idea and incorporated many of the elements…

08032011245 I also did this one…

To view my inspirations from these layouts, please stop by Amy’s blog here.  And be sure to leave her a comment!

August Challenge…

This is a challenge for myself, but I would LOVE company!  I want to scrapbook one page a day (or a double page layout)…  I also want to try something that I have rarely done and that is to copy or use a sketch to follow.  A stamping friend shared this wonderful blog with me.  She mostly scrapbooks 4x6 pictures on 12x12 layouts.  I love the simplicity of this idea.  I will *try* to share one a day!  Please leave a comment letting me know what you think and also visit Amy’s blog as well.

Here’s my first layout.

 08032011246

You can see the sketch here on Amy’s blog.  I did convert it to 12x12 as hers was done in 8 1/2 x 11 and added a picture, plus turned some of them.

Thanks Amy for such wonderful inspiration!

Scrapbooking!!!

Yesterday I started scrapbooking again… it had been a while.  Costco is having their sale on 4x6 photos, so I printed up a bunch and dug in…

Here are the pictures…  08022011239

This is Trenton with his baby cousin (1st and only so far) Logan.  This will go in Trenton’s book.

08022011240

This is Jaydon holding Logan.  This will go in Jaydon’s book.

08022011241

This is the journaling I did,  I used the MDS for the type and then used my new alphabet stamp set for the “Logan” sign.  And attached brads in between.  Look for a new scrapbook page tomorrow!  I hope to post one a day for the month of August!  Also, will be using a wonderful blog to gather inspiration… more details on that tomorrow.  Please feel free to leave a comment below!  I love hearing from you guys…

Blessings,

Our Vaca!

Jaydon had the opportunity to go to Washougal this year for Nationals (dirtbikes) so Mark & I packed up the car and took Bolton & Trenton to the beach, DSC_0048and did we have a great time or what!

You know when you do laundry and there is more sand in the dryer lint catcher than lint… and I rinsed everything out at the hotel before packing, lol.  DSC_0056

Bolton loves sucking his thumb… every time we’d have to wash his face and then try to get as much of it out of his mouth as possible, but he didn’t care!

DSC_0071 Trenton got a new kite (we couldn’t find the one we usually bring… ugh).  The highlight of my day was watching Mark “baywatch” run to get the kite after Bolton had unhooked it from the car!  Wish I had a video camera and had not had my legs buried in the sand (thanks Mark & Trenton).

DSC_0225

After a fun filled day at the beach we hit a great restaurant (we’ve been there many times) where they have chalkboard tables for the “kids” to doodle on before their meal gets there…  Galway Bay!

07222011227

We stayed 2 nights and then went to our favorite hotel in Tukwila, WA (Comfort Inn & Suites) and then headed home on Sunday.  It was a wonderful time spent with the 2 youngest and although we missed Jaydon (he came home Sunday night), the boys needed the break from each other.

Now I have to get back to that laundry and off this computer!

Thanks for stopping by!

Personalized Totes!

07272011235

We had a great morning!  Yesterday Jaydon, Trenton, and I hit up the local craft store and found these adorable bags! This morning we started decorating…  using scrap fabric and the big shot Trenton & Bolton now each have their own swimming bags.  Jaydon gets to make his this afternoon (he spent the morning with Grandpa) and I will make one for myself too!  Mark will get one if he is luck, lol.

07272011236

The bags are made with 100% cotton and are machine washable (a plus for any Mom).  Must give credit where credit is due…I saw this great idea on YouTube (search for “justasip”).

Going to be selling these, personalized on the spot, at a local craft fair in November…. due with baby #4 in late October…. yup, I’m crazy! Two years ago when I did this craft fair Bolton was only 6 days old :-) Oh well, if you’re going to go crazy might as well have fun doing it!  If you want one before November email me at stamp-aholic@hotmail.com

Thanks for stopping by!

New Favorite Hostess Set!

I don’t know if I can really choose or not, but if I had to make a decision today this set would07132011203 have to be my new favorite hostess only set!  Ask me again tomorrow, that might change, lol.

The new hostess program is easy to use and allows you to get even more of the products you love for FREE or for 50% off!  Who doesn’t love that?

Here is a brief description of how it works…  You pick a time and date, I come to your house or host your friends and family in my craft room, your workshop sales are $150.00 (before shipping and tax).  You instantly get to pick $25.00 worth of product!!!  Yippee for you!  Now here is where it gets fun!  There are hostess ONLY sets,  like the one pictured above… it is a $13.95 (clear) or $18.95 (wood) value but if you want to use your hostess $$ for this set of 5 gorgeous stamps it will only cost you $8 (clear) or $11 (wood) from your $25.00.

Now say you don’t like ANY of the hostess sets?  Well, I doubt that is possible, but if it is… you can use your $25.00 hostess credit on ANYTHING in the catalog!

Okay, say you have the best friends in the world and they all place orders (easy to do!) and your workshop is over $400 (before shipping & tax) now you will get $65.00 in Hostess credit and one item in the catalog at 1/2 off!  That means that you could buy the big shot for $50.00, have $65.00 to spend on dies for the big shot, have a wonderful time with friends and family, and have made some new creations all for just hosting a workshop!

Workshops aren’t for everyone and I understand that, with 3 kids myself and the 4th on the way!  But they are easy and if you don’t want to do it at your home, you do have other options… a catalog party (just gather orders and reap the benefits) or schedule a time to have it in my space!

Either way, the benefits are great!  Let me know if I can help you earn free goodies!  To see the breakdown of the new hostess benefits click here.

Thanks,

Heather

Morning Cup

I have a few extra “leftovers” from recent events and wanted to try to use them up on these quick and easy cards…  This was using the Morning Cup set and Watercolor07132011202 Paper, Stampin’ Up! colored pencils and aqua painters to blend!  Anytime you are going to add water or color to an image that has already been stamped, you want to stamp the image using Staz On or a permanent ink to prevent bleeding.  Staz On is Watercolor Paper’s best friend!

If you have any questions, feel free to post them here, email me at stamp-aholic@hotmail.com or contact me via my website at www.heatherd.stampinup.net

Thanks for looking and have a great day!

I Dig You!

Using Marker to Stamp technique I 07132011201 colored the skid steer and then stamped on my Top Note Die Whisper White Paper,  I then stamped again on a piece of scratch paper to get a “mask”, cut the mask out.  Then colored the “gifts” stamp and using the mask to cover the bucket I stamped the gifts and added happy birthday on the bottom and then added some grass by coloring again with my marker.  Super Simple and yet every little boy (and some girls, I remember begging my Dad for a mini excavator growing up) dream!  It is mounted on a Choc Chip 8 x 8 (folded at 4”) cardstock base.

Thanks for looking and if you have any questions please feel free to contact me, stamp-aholic@hotmail.com or www.heatherd.stampinup.net

My Favorite a la carte

This adorable “Elebration” Stamp is my new favorite single stamp and priced at just $9.95 (wood mount only) you can’t go wrong! I stamped him with Staz On on watercolor paper and then colored him in using aqua painters and Watercolor Wonder Crayons which by the07132011200 way is my new favorite technique!  I love how you can play and manipulate the colors to get the exact shading you are looking for!  Have you ever tried this technique?   I would love to share it with you & your friends at a workshop in the near future!

Thanks for looking and stop by tomorrow for another exciting card!

New Stamp Sets!!!

07132011198

July has been the month of NEW stamp sets!  I earned 6 free stamp sets of my choice for my sales and recruiting during Sale-a-bration earlier this year (thank you to my downline and wonderful friend customers who made this possible!).  However, you who know me well, know that occasionally I will never even use a stamp set that I have hidden away in my arsenal until I find out it is on the retired list and then I wonder why I even got it in the first place (insert *blush* here).  This time though, I am determined this will be different!  So, I assembled all the sets I got and have made it a goal to use each one at least once before it finds it’s way to my stamp closet.

Now, my husband would say that this is a very creative way to, um how do I put this gently, procrastinate on cleaning up my stamping area… and I agree that I have a problem with organized mess, but it is working so far!  I made over 8 cards this week alone and a few other crafty things using fabric that I will share SOON!07132011199

So,  for putting up with me ranting and raving so long today, I will share two!!!  Aren’t you lucky!  But you will have to come back tomorrow for more, and the next day, and the next day, and so on, I think you get the idea.

Please post a comment letting me know that you have stopped by and which of these 2 is your favorite…  I might even send it you!

Thanks and happy stamping!

Stampin Scrub First, the Stampin' Scrub is available again!  This has been on back order for a while now due to material availability with the manufacturer but it's back.  This great tool can be washed and reused many times. In fact, I still have the original one that came with my kit almost 4 years ago and it is still going strong!

KIT Info!  I have created a birthday calendar album and it is ready for preorders!

I think you get the picture!

Here is what comes with the kit...

  • 6 x 6 ring album in Natural, Real Red, or Navy

  • 15 page protectors

  • Paper precut in 6 x 6 size

  • 3 sheets of birthday and celebrations die cut embellishments from the Good Times Simply Scrappin' Kit

  • Calendars preprinted on Very Vanilla Cardstock and precut

  • Written directions with pictures on how to complete on your own... or watch for times coming in May to create your album here using all of my tools!  The only thing you have to provide is adhesive!

Purchasing these separate would cost almost $65.00 and you would still have to create and print the calendars for each month.  However by purchasing it in this kit I can save you money by dividing up supplies (page protectors, cardstock, and the Simply Scrappin' Kit) and make it more cost effective for everyone at only $45.00 per kit!

Because of the supplies involved, I have to require prepayment on this kit.  I can accept Cash, Check or PayPal for Kits.

This would make a great gift for anyone, a Mom for Mother's Day (order NOW to make sure the supplies get here in time!), fathers day, graduate, or wedding gift!

Okay, time for the sneak peek and a great deal!  Here is a card that I created last night.

04272011096

I used a new stamp set and punch coming out May 1st.   ALL of the paper and ribbon came from my $5.00 grab bag!  And there is enough in the grab bag to make 10 of these cards or more plus it came with envelopes! I added a Stamped Image, adhesive, and a stamp pad!  They are still available through the end of this month...  04272011095Head on over to
