Our Vaca!

Jaydon had the opportunity to go to Washougal this year for Nationals (dirtbikes) so Mark & I packed up the car and took Bolton & Trenton to the beach, DSC_0048and did we have a great time or what!

You know when you do laundry and there is more sand in the dryer lint catcher than lint… and I rinsed everything out at the hotel before packing, lol.  DSC_0056

Bolton loves sucking his thumb… every time we’d have to wash his face and then try to get as much of it out of his mouth as possible, but he didn’t care!

DSC_0071 Trenton got a new kite (we couldn’t find the one we usually bring… ugh).  The highlight of my day was watching Mark “baywatch” run to get the kite after Bolton had unhooked it from the car!  Wish I had a video camera and had not had my legs buried in the sand (thanks Mark & Trenton).

After a fun filled day at the beach we hit a great restaurant (we’ve been there many times) where they have chalkboard tables for the “kids” to doodle on before their meal gets there…  Galway Bay!

We stayed 2 nights and then went to our favorite hotel in Tukwila, WA (Comfort Inn & Suites) and then headed home on Sunday.  It was a wonderful time spent with the 2 youngest and although we missed Jaydon (he came home Sunday night), the boys needed the break from each other.

Now I have to get back to that laundry and off this computer!

Personalized Totes!

07272011235

We had a great morning!  Yesterday Jaydon, Trenton, and I hit up the local craft store and found these adorable bags! This morning we started decorating…  using scrap fabric and the big shot Trenton & Bolton now each have their own swimming bags.  Jaydon gets to make his this afternoon (he spent the morning with Grandpa) and I will make one for myself too!  Mark will get one if he is luck, lol.

07272011236

The bags are made with 100% cotton and are machine washable (a plus for any Mom).  Must give credit where credit is due…I saw this great idea on YouTube (search for “justasip”).

Going to be selling these, personalized on the spot, at a local craft fair in November…. due with baby #4 in late October…. yup, I’m crazy! Two years ago when I did this craft fair Bolton was only 6 days old :-) Oh well, if you’re going to go crazy might as well have fun doing it!  If you want one before November email me at stamp-aholic@hotmail.com

New Favorite Hostess Set!

I don’t know if I can really choose or not, but if I had to make a decision today this set would07132011203 have to be my new favorite hostess only set!  Ask me again tomorrow, that might change, lol.

The new hostess program is easy to use and allows you to get even more of the products you love for FREE or for 50% off!  Who doesn’t love that?

Here is a brief description of how it works…  You pick a time and date, I come to your house or host your friends and family in my craft room, your workshop sales are $150.00 (before shipping and tax).  You instantly get to pick $25.00 worth of product!!!  Yippee for you!  Now here is where it gets fun!  There are hostess ONLY sets,  like the one pictured above… it is a $13.95 (clear) or $18.95 (wood) value but if you want to use your hostess $$ for this set of 5 gorgeous stamps it will only cost you $8 (clear) or $11 (wood) from your $25.00.

Now say you don’t like ANY of the hostess sets?  Well, I doubt that is possible, but if it is… you can use your $25.00 hostess credit on ANYTHING in the catalog!

Okay, say you have the best friends in the world and they all place orders (easy to do!) and your workshop is over $400 (before shipping & tax) now you will get $65.00 in Hostess credit and one item in the catalog at 1/2 off!  That means that you could buy the big shot for $50.00, have $65.00 to spend on dies for the big shot, have a wonderful time with friends and family, and have made some new creations all for just hosting a workshop!

Workshops aren’t for everyone and I understand that, with 3 kids myself and the 4th on the way!  But they are easy and if you don’t want to do it at your home, you do have other options… a catalog party (just gather orders and reap the benefits) or schedule a time to have it in my space!

Either way, the benefits are great!  Let me know if I can help you earn free goodies!  To see the breakdown of the new hostess benefits click here.

Thanks,

Heather

Morning Cup

I have a few extra “leftovers” from recent events and wanted to try to use them up on these quick and easy cards…  This was using the Morning Cup set and Watercolor07132011202 Paper, Stampin’ Up! colored pencils and aqua painters to blend!  Anytime you are going to add water or color to an image that has already been stamped, you want to stamp the image using Staz On or a permanent ink to prevent bleeding.  Staz On is Watercolor Paper’s best friend!

If you have any questions, feel free to post them here, email me at stamp-aholic@hotmail.com or contact me via my website at www.heatherd.stampinup.net

Thanks for looking and have a great day!

I Dig You!

Using Marker to Stamp technique I 07132011201 colored the skid steer and then stamped on my Top Note Die Whisper White Paper,  I then stamped again on a piece of scratch paper to get a “mask”, cut the mask out.  Then colored the “gifts” stamp and using the mask to cover the bucket I stamped the gifts and added happy birthday on the bottom and then added some grass by coloring again with my marker.  Super Simple and yet every little boy (and some girls, I remember begging my Dad for a mini excavator growing up) dream!  It is mounted on a Choc Chip 8 x 8 (folded at 4”) cardstock base.

Thanks for looking and if you have any questions please feel free to contact me, stamp-aholic@hotmail.com or www.heatherd.stampinup.net

My Favorite a la carte

This adorable “Elebration” Stamp is my new favorite single stamp and priced at just $9.95 (wood mount only) you can’t go wrong! I stamped him with Staz On on watercolor paper and then colored him in using aqua painters and Watercolor Wonder Crayons which by the07132011200 way is my new favorite technique!  I love how you can play and manipulate the colors to get the exact shading you are looking for!  Have you ever tried this technique?   I would love to share it with you & your friends at a workshop in the near future!

Thanks for looking and stop by tomorrow for another exciting card!

New Stamp Sets!!!

07132011198

July has been the month of NEW stamp sets!  I earned 6 free stamp sets of my choice for my sales and recruiting during Sale-a-bration earlier this year (thank you to my downline and wonderful friend customers who made this possible!).  However, you who know me well, know that occasionally I will never even use a stamp set that I have hidden away in my arsenal until I find out it is on the retired list and then I wonder why I even got it in the first place (insert *blush* here).  This time though, I am determined this will be different!  So, I assembled all the sets I got and have made it a goal to use each one at least once before it finds it’s way to my stamp closet.

Now, my husband would say that this is a very creative way to, um how do I put this gently, procrastinate on cleaning up my stamping area… and I agree that I have a problem with organized mess, but it is working so far!  I made over 8 cards this week alone and a few other crafty things using fabric that I will share SOON!07132011199

So,  for putting up with me ranting and raving so long today, I will share two!!!  Aren’t you lucky!  But you will have to come back tomorrow for more, and the next day, and the next day, and so on, I think you get the idea.

Please post a comment letting me know that you have stopped by and which of these 2 is your favorite…  I might even send it you!

Thanks and happy stamping!

Heather
