Left-Overs

I participated (3rd year) in the Brownville Elementary Craft Bazaar this past weekend and really had a wonderful time.

There were some highlights… the fire alarm went off on Sunday morning due to a raisin getting stuck in the toaster.  Firemen came, the venders lounge smelled like burnt toast but all in all people were friendly about it and it woke us all up better than an espresso!

I have tons of left over stuff and my craft room is still in disarray from packing up everything (3 tables plus supplies plus product to sell) and then bringing it all back in and being too exhausted to do anything!

11102010020  I have 5 of these guys left.  They are coffee cozies and I am selling them for $5.00.  Plus I will ship them for free while supplies last!  I also have some floral ones I just have not had a change to take a picture, upload it and post it yet…

Priority number one is clean up my mess…  I am ashamed but here is what the craft room is looking like right now:  11172010026

It is putting a MAJOR damper on my creative juices and I must get it cleaned up!  UGH, where are the magical cleaning ferries when I need them?

When I get it cleaned up and photo ready I will try to post a picture of it!  Look for that to come in the approximately 2 decades as I will be raising kids until at least then, lol!

Happy Friday to you all!  and please leave a comment even if it is just a HI, it’s always nice to know that you are reading this!

Hugs, Heather

Occasions Mini & Sale-a-bration!

I am SO excited!  As a SU Demonstrator I get a monthly magazine packed with ideas and information on what is happening in the world of Stampin’ Up!  Now, while I can’t share it with you (although you could just sign up to be a demo and then get your very own copies hot of the press)  I can tease you and tell you this…  I LOVE IT!  There are some new stamp sets that I can’t wait to get.  The freebies in the Sale-a-bration catalog are all wonderful! And the accessories are beauties!

Don’t forget that the Holiday Mini catalog is still in effect and has some very wonderful stamp sets, big shot accessories and embellies of it’s own!  Check it out today here and click on download PDF.

Glitter… it’s a love-hate relationship!

Oh how pretty glitter is… but oh the mess!  I love my powder pals for that!  On this card I used the Heat and Stick powder to adhere 09232010416the glitter (the NEW Glass Glitter) to the chipboard.  Please leave me a comment and let me know what you think of it!

It is a simple card!  The sentiment is from “Three Little Words”

Sad… but hopeful

Yesterday I learned some potentially heartbreaking news, but until we know more I am not going to share all of the details in “blog land”.  Our family could use lots of prayers and hugs!

Some good has come from this unexpected interruption in our daily lives… I am in a card making mood!  So, two were made today!  Yup, TWO!  I know it’s AMAZING! :-)  I will share one today and one tomorrow for you!

Hope you have a wonderful weekend and have time to get crafty!  If you do and you would like to share, please email me pictures and I will post them on here…

So here it is… Card #1 for todaycard1

I used DSP in the In-Color Blushing Bride, Choc Chip & Crumb Cake cardstock and the “Happy Thoughts make Happy Days” stamp from a hostess set (level 2).  AND… the NEW punch from the mini catalog!  I love how the new punch style can be flipped upside down and set on the table while punching.  No more holding the large punch and trying to punch the paper while keeping your image centered!  I know you know what I know I am talking about, lol!

If you have yet to get a NEW holiday mini catalog in your hands to drool over, please call, email or text me and I will get one sent your way!

Have a wonderful day!

Heather

KITS!

By request and the very busy lives of some of my customers I have decided to venture into making kits!  All of these kits will be available while supplies last and while all of the paper and most embellishments will be included there will be projects that will require you to have some supplies on hand (mostly the basics, adhesive, crop-a-dile, heat gun, etc.)  When posting a kit I will try to remember to post what supplies are needed to complete it.  If a kit is done with a punched image I will punch out the image prior to sending it your way (unless you request otherwise), however, if a kit uses a stamped image you will need to have a similar stamp and ink to use to complete the kit.  I can always and would be more than happy to order the stamp set and ink pad (or any other supplies) needed for you.

WAIT!  You don’t have supplies or space?  That is okay too!  Schedule a time to use my craft room and supplies (stamps, inks, tools) and I would be happy to let you play!  There is NO Charge for using my craft room.

I accept cash, checks, and PayPal for the kits and can ship them to your door for the kit price plus shipping (email me your address for shipping rates; different kits will cost different prices due to weight and destination).  AND you can order as many kits as you would like as long as supplies last!

So ready to see the next kit?  I will post that next!   Oh and Kit #1?  That would be the DVD tin.

DVD Case Albums!

I recently came across this on Julie Buhler’s blog which you can find here.  She has the best ideas and is brilliant!  I have been in the mood to use up some of my retired paper and embellishments to make room for more new stuff *he he*.  The first one I made before the boys caught on to what I was doing.  Then Trenton wanted to join in and then… Jaydon came home from school and HAD to make one too!  We had a blast!DSC03806

The picture is kind of dark and all of the product in this one is retired, but if you are interested in one of your own… just let me know.  Need the tin?  Get one from me for $5.00 (undecorated) or all gussied up for $10.00.  Pick your color DSC03808(designer series paper) and let the creative juices flow.   This is the inside of my album which I am going to use for the story and photos of when Mark proposed to me.

DSC03809

This one is Trenton’s DSC03810

You can see here that the paper is tiny crowns all over it.  I love the border that is on the other side of the paper. DSC03812  And the jumbo brads that hold it all together.  He is going to fill his with drawings and pictures of himself I think.  Fun for him to create (he picked the paper and helped clue everything in place) and fill!

And now for Jaydon’s:

DSC03813 Here is the cover… The DSP is retired but the motorcycle dude is available in the 2009-2010 Idea Catalog.  He is only $8.95!  (Item #115175) or Free with a $50 order before March 31st!

Here is the inside of his albumDSC03814  This is a cut out of the biker heat embossed with gold.

DSC03816

He choose ivory jumbo brads to hold his all together.  If you would like to make one for yourself or to give as a gift please feel free to contact me and I would be more than happy to help you!  thanks!  Heather

Simply Adorned… it’s here!

SimplyAdorn_landingpage_B1

Our Simply Adorned line beautifully combines the best of two worlds: stamping and jewelry! We designed our Simply Adorned charms to hold a creation you design yourself, making your jewelry truly unique.

Simply Adorned charms are lockets--they open up so you can insert your custom stamped image. The Charming stamp set, along with Rub-Ons, glitter, ribbons, and other embellishments, can help you create your unique charm insert. And don't forget that you can embellish the chains with ribbon, felt flowers . . . the possibilities are endless! The frame surrounds tempered beveled glass on the front and flat glass on the back. Because there's glass on both sides of the charm, you can display an image on one side or both. You can create a custom heirloom piece that you'll never want to change, or you can swap artwork in and out, depending on your mood and your wardrobe.

And although we designed Simply Adorned charms to be jewelry, they also make delightful key chains or Christmas tree ornaments. Insert a stamped image or photo of your loved ones, tie a ribbon through the clasp, and you're done!

Paper-crafters and noncrafters alike--will love the look of Simply Adorned and appreciate how easy it is to create custom jewelry.

Our Simply Adorned line includes nickel-plated charms in three sizes and anodized stainless steel chains in two lengths.

FAQs

Q: What size are the charms?

A: The charms are available in three different sizes: 1" x 1", 1" x 1-1/4", and 1-1/2" x 2". The size listed refers to the charm insert; the metal frame around the insert is slightly larger. You can use the included insert as a template to create the perfect-sized piece of artwork for your frame. It is important that your insert matches the insert template exactly. The hinge on your charm can break if your insert is too large and overlaps onto the frame.

Q: Is the toggle clasp meant to be worn in the front or the back?

A: Our stainless steel chain features a toggle clasp and includes an exclusive Stampin' Up! charm identifier. The beautiful leaf charm is designed to be worn on the front to enhance the overall design of the necklace, or worn on the back for a simpler look.

Q: What materials are used to make Simply Adorned jewelry?

A: The charms are nickel-plated zinc alloy with tempered beveled glass on the front, and tempered flat glass in the back. The chains are anodized stainless steel with a nickel-plated zinc alloy charm and toggle.

Q: How do I clean my charm?

A: Use clean water and a cotton applicator to clean the jewelry surface. Do not use alcohol or other chemicals to clean your jewelry as they will damage the finish.

Q: How many layers can I fit inside the charm?

A: The number of layers that fit inside each charm depends on the type of materials used. The space in the charm is 2 mm; as card stock, Designer Series paper, ribbon, and adhesives all differ in thickness, it is difficult to specify the number of layers that will fit inside. It is important to remember that you can break the hinge on your charm if your inserts are too thick. Never force the charm closed. If the charm does not close easily, remove a layer or two from your insert and try again.

Q: How is the jewelry packaged?

A: Each piece comes in a Chocolate Chip box (box for charms: 3-1/4" x 2-1/2" x 1"; box for chains: 9-1/2" x 2-1/2" x 1").

Be Inspired and Get Creating!

New Years Resolutions… (an update)

This weekend Mark & Jaydon have been gone.  They went with a good friend of ours to Spokane to pick up a military trailer and whatever other military vehicles, parts, or a combination of that we just can’t live without.  So I have been using this *slightly* free time (I still have Trenton –2 and Bolton –2 months) to get a few things done around the house and focus on my resolutions.  I FINALLY got the very dry Christmas tree down and outside last night!  I tried to go to bed but could not fall asleep so I put in a good chick flick and started writing out the monthly challenges!  I think I have most of them done!  So I am going to try to type them up and set them to post at later dates… I am still new to this blogging thing and although I think I am getting the hang of it, this will be the first time post-dating an entry.

I did come to a conclusion… I normally just post a challenge for either a card or a scrapbook page, for this year there will be a challenge for both!  Enter one or enter both, and enter them as many different times (with different projects pertaining to the challenge) as your heart desires.  Each entry is worth a entry into the drawing.

Good Luck and I hope that you have fun with this.  I hope it sparks creativity in us all!

January Happenings!

Be sure to check my website www.heatherd.stampinup.net for new events added!

Have a great Wednesday!

Heather

These are a few of my favorite things…

I was looking through some photos (on the computer of course, because we live in a digital world!)  and came across a photo of a family page that I had made for a part of a gift for my Grandma.  I love the way this page turned out and plan on replicating it soon as I start to work on our wedding album.  Here is the page DSC02009 Not a very good picture, but i think you get the idea.   Then I kept looking and I must say that the baby announcements turned out adorable and I would like to début the Thank You cards that I am still finishing up and getting in the mail…DSC03068

again, not a great picture of the picture.  If you know of anyone expecting and would like to create announcements or thank you cards as a gift to them, let me know!  I would love to help create something that will WOW them!  By the way, the saying on the bottom reads “We have added on to our home an additional two feet” .  I used Choc Chip, Whisper White and Barely Banana paper as we did not know what we were having.DSC03066

And here is the Thank You card.  I continued with the “two feet stamp” and the same color combination but added Certainly Celery DSP to add a boy touch.  It is stamped on the inside with a simple “Thank you” stamp.

Have fun today and get creating!

~Heather
