Armed Forces Day Parade

Today we participated in the Armed Forces Day Parade in Bremerton, Washington.  It was a blast!  Trenton and I stood on the sideline and took lots of pictures of the guys going by.  It was a beautiful day and had a great time!  Here are some pictures of the day…

You will notice that most of the pictures are of the West Sound Military Vehicle Preservation Club, their members and vehicles… that is because we are members and love this hobby of preserving the past!  If you would like more information on the club, please feel free to email me!  AND, thanks for letting me share!

Hostess Club

Tomorrow evening is my monthly Hostess Club!  This club go-around meets on one Thursday a month at 7 pm and we create one project for the gals to take home.  This is always a fun-filled evening and tomorrow night will be no different!  Look for information below on how to join my next hostess club starting in July 2009!

At our regional event in Seattle last Saturday we received a stamp set “Best Wishes & More”.  DSC01759I have fallen in love with the versatility of this stamp set retailed at 26.95 on page 55 of the current catalog.  The sayings included in this 9 piece stamp set are * “ready, set, snow!” * “Wishing you all this… and more”  * “couldn’t do without you” & * “laughter joy happiness bliss delight”.   I used this stamp set for the following two projects which we will be doing at our April Hostess Club.

The first project is a magnet and uses Green Galore cardstock, Perfect Plum Classic Stampin’ Pad & In Colors Tangerine Tango Classic Stampin’ Pad.  I attached the flowers with dimensions (using 2 stacked on each DSC01757other to raise the Tangerine Tango flower higher than the outside ones).  I also attached magnets to the back of it and rounded the corners with my punch.  I think that my Mom will love this simple yet handmade gift for Mother’s Day.  Shhh don’t tell her!

The card that we are making could also be used for Mother’s day which is right around theDSC01755 corner.  I stared with Perfect Plum for the cardstock, added Urban Oasis DSP and punched with my Scallop Edge punch.  I then used whisper White Cardstock and stamped the heart stamp from the “Best Wishes & More” set in Perfect Plum, adhere this after distressing the edges to choc. chip cardstock and add a simple saying.  You could add buttons or brads or even a strip of ribbon if you would like but I like the simplicity of this card.

Have I gotten you interested in how you can make projects like these?  It is easy to sign up!  Here are the details… you commit to placing an order once a month of $25.00 or more in product (before shipping and tax) for the duration of the club and in exchange  you get:

  • A FREE catalog
  • To be hostess for a month which means at least $15.00 in FREE product and a FREE level 1 hostess gift
  • Invite more people or get outside orders for the month you are the hostess and earn more FREE product!
  • FREE Ideas and crafts that you are able to take home with you and use throughout the year!

The club always meets in my craft room!  Email me if you have any questions or if this is something that you are interested in doing!

Exciting News Updates!

March has come and is almost gone *sad*.  It has been a very eventful March for our household!  In February, Mark proposed so the wedding plans have been in full swing!  We are planning a June 6th wedding at our home.   The save the dates were sent out and everything is coming into place nicely!

Mid-March rolls around and after not feeling like myself for a couple of weeks, I decided to go to the doctor and get checked out!  Well, turns out I am pregnant!  We are very excited and although this is not the timing we would have preferred, it is a wonderful blessing.  Then, almost like a bell went off in my stomach, I started having Morning Sickness!  Everything is going better now and we have another appointment on April 6th.  So there is the news!

Now that March is almost behind us… btw today is the last day for the Sale-a-Brations Catalog… I am starting to focus on getting back to my regular schedule and that includes Stampin’ Up!  I will be posting my April schedule soon!

In February I hosted a 10 cards for $10 and it DSC01443 went great!  We made a 5 different cards (2 of each design) and were able to play with some new products!  This card is a simple 4x4 card and using the Circle Scissor Plus and glass mat we cut a 2.5” circle out of the center of the top of the card.  Stamped on a white 3.5 x 3.5 cardstock and added Micro Beads using Crystal Effects!  It is an easy, fun, and simple card.  Add a touch of ribbon and you are set!

If you would like directions for this card or to order supplies please feel free to email me at stamp-aholic@hotmail.com !

Keep a look out for my April Schedule to arrive sometime soon  and I hope you all enjoy your day! ~Heather

March is Here!

I am sorry that it has been so long since I have posted last!  My wireless internet decided to take an unapproved vacation and old fashion dial up was no fun.  After having 2 “cable guys” come out to the house we finally!!! have high speed internet!

The boys came home last night from a weekend in Bellingham and are both sick with the flu bug that is going around so today I will be taking care of them and hopefully able to post something more exciting tomorrow!  ~Like maybe the March schedule!~

Well, off to tend to the sick!
